Outbursts of rage and breaking voices interweave with hopeful enchanted melodies. Whoever listens to Oliver Spitzer and Philipp Hackl, the two Viennese by choice, gets into an alternating bath of emotions and it takes the body into dreamy bobbing and sweaty dancing.
With their latest single "Minus 12 Degrees" JOLPHIN show their chilled folky side. Dreamy and melancholic! A feel-good song that is characterized by the contrast of sound and lyrics of an exciting duality.
Besides touring Germany, Austria and Switzerland, JOLPHIN have continued to work on their musical identity during the past year. They have paid special attention to sound and arrangement, as they say themselves: "We simply spent a lot more time and also had a much higher standard for the new songs. The upcoming songs will be more layered and mostly calmer than our last EP "Sugar Shock Therapy".
However, this is not to say that JOLPHIN's live show is calm. Quite the contrary. Playing in packed clubs in front of a raging crowds until the sweat drips from the ceiling. If JOLPHIN can do something really well, it's to tear it up live.
