YATWA
Summertime. The helper in need sung about by YATWA in their last release - Marvin Morser - is already on holiday and Lana del Rey has also released again in the meantime. So it's time for some Summertime Sadness, combined with the question of whether this "everything" we call life will get easier at some point. This better future will come someday – wheather as retirement, dolce vita or utopia, no?
YATWA dedicate a hymn with the simple title "Easier" to this divergence between fair-weather feeling (music) and anxious hopes for the future (lyrics). Musically, the band drifts even further into New Wave a la Blondie and the like with their second single of the year, without wanting to pander to the associated vibe…
Does it ever get easier?
Will it ever get easier?
Spoiler: It won‘t.
